With another season fast-approaching, we have some exciting news to announce. For the first time ever, Chiddingfold has entered a Saturday 3rd XI into the I'Anson Cricket League.

The primary reason is to provide another route into adult cricket for our ever-growing number of junior players. We really believe that the opportunity to play senior cricket will help the development of our boys and girls. The ability to bat without enforced retirements and bowl more overs will be a great experience. Ideally. we're looking for a balance of around 7 or 8 juniors in the team each week, with three or four more experienced players to help manage the matches.

Players need to be in the U13 age group or above to be able to play senior cricket and we're intending to include most of those players in the squad by default. If you don't want to receive Pitchero notifications about availability for 3rd XI matches, you can remove your son or daughter from the squad (or let us know and we'll do it for you).

We recognise that it may be a struggle to get three teams out on Saturdays at times, so this is also a great opportunity for parents to get back into cricket (or try it for the first time) and perhaps play alongside their children. If you are interested in playing on either a regular or occasional basis, please let us know and we'll add you to the squad.

We're really excited about this, but it will need support from all sections of the Club if we're to make it a success.
