1. Emergency Procedures


Chiddingfold Cricket Club’s Emergency Procedures must be followed if an incident occurs involving any of the emergency services or a visit to hospital.

Fire
If you discover a fire:

  • Close doors and windows to the room
  • Raise the alarm by shouting “Fire” loudly and clearly
  • Dial 999 or 112 and give details to the emergency services
  • Before opening closed doors, check them for heat, which nay indicate a fire behind the door
  • Leave the building and go to the assembly point by the practice nets

Important:
You may tackle the fire with an extinguisher or fire blanket, but only if the fire can be extinguished quickly with the minimum risk to yourself.

If a fire alarm is raised:

  • Close all doors and windows to the room
  • Leave the building and go to the assembly point by the practice nets

Important
Do not stop to collect belongings.
Do not re-enter the building until the Fire Service or a Club official has declared it safe to do so.

Accidents and First Aid
If you have an accident at the Cricket Club:

  • Report it immediately to your coach, captain or club official
  • Locate a First Aider and identify the nearest First Aid box
  • Make sure an accident report form (available in the Pavilion) is completed

If you need First Aid:

  • Contact a First Aider or ask someone to do it for you.
  • The names of First Aiders are posted on the notice board in the Pavilion.
  • If you cannot quickly locate a First Aider, dial 999 or 112 and give details to the emergency services

Any other emergency
Dial 999 or 112 and give details to the emergency services.
