Welcome to Chiddingfold Cricket Club.
This letter has been put together to give you an introduction to the Club, its teams and the costs.
CCC has three adult teams, the 1sts, 2nds and a Sunday side. The 1sts play in the I’Anson division one on Saturdays and a mid-week evening 20/20 competition. The 2nds play in I’Anson division three, also on Saturdays. The Sunday XI plays friendlies throughout the season.
Since 2010 the Club has run a colts section. U7, U9, U11 and U13 age groups train on Friday evenings and Sunday mornings and play matches through the year.
2. Facilities and Ground
Home matches are played at the Club’s Woodside Road ground. The Club has recently made some big investments into its facilities including a new pavilion, ground equipment, sight screens and next winter the ground’s drainage will be improved.
CCC has a net and bowling machine, both are available to members to use at their discretion. To use the machine please ask the captains for a key to the pavilion and a lesson on how to use it.
3.Committee and Club Constitution
CCC is run by a committee of volunteers; the Club does not have any employees. An AGM is run in January to appoint the Committee who meet monthly to run the Club. Included in the fixtures booklet is a list of Committee members and the constitution is available on the Club’s website. The Club always needs people to get involved, please let us know if you want to volunteer, coach (the Club will pay for you to get qualified), assist with ground preparation or organise a social event.
To play more than three games players need to be Members. Memberships to CCC are annual. There are about 35 adult and 80 colts members.
Adult subs are £75 but are tapered based on the number of games played – 0-3 matches no subs, 4-6 matches half subs and 7+ matches full subs.
Match fees in adult cricket are £10 a game and £5 for students/U18.
Colts subs are £45.
The Club offers family memberships for adult members who have children in the Colts. The cost of these are £90 for an adult and one child, £115 for two children and £140 for three children.
It’s the member’s responsibility to make sure they do not leave the Club out of pocket. Please make sure you pay any subs or match fees promptly.
The Club runs social events throughout the year. The main ones being the end of year Awards Night held on the final day of the season and the Dinner Dance which is a black tie event held in November. The Club enjoys the considerable support of the Crown Inn and most teams can be found post match enjoying a drink in this historic inn who are our Club sponsor.
Over the August bank holiday the Club either visits or receives Glusburn CC, a Yorkshire club similar to CCC. This fixture has been running since the 1970’s and is highlight of the season.
